A substantial ladies Victorian rosewood jewellery and vanity box. This is lined with rose red velvet and measuring 12″ x 6 1/2″ x 8 3/4″ deep. It comes with a working key. The mother of pearl cartouche is vacant awaiting initials. Inside it has a ruched velvet inner lid with a secret compartment behind for love letters. It has a lift out compartmentalised tray. With carved matching mother of pearl handles for the velvet covered compartment lids. Some compartments are tin lined. There are five cut glass bottles in the compartments. There is a lower pull out divided tray for jewellery. All in excellent ready to use and display condition.
Constructed from solid Mahogany with beautiful Rosewood veneer. Rosewood & Burr Oak. Tea Caddy Box. All rounded edges are finished in beautiful Burr Oak. William 4th. The key escutcheon is an inlaid round of ivorine.
An early to mid 19th century rosewood tea caddy. It is of sarcophagus shape and would be late Regency or William IV in period. The lid overhangs the base and the body tapers towards to the base. It has a working brass lock with key.
8148 Rosewood Tea Caddy. The caddy is of single division form with one section for the tea with the original lid, to the other side is the opening for the mixing bowl. There is a cut glass mixing bowl of good fit, but probably later than the caddy.
The interior features two removable tea caddies, each with their original silver paper lined interiors. It has its original lock but regrettably no key. It is in very good condition for its age and displays beautifully.
