Pendule d'Officier (carriage) clock by Henri Marc Paris in rosewood with silver dial, tortoiseshell, gilt and brass inlay. Signs of some restoration and age related wear as appropriate for the age, mid 19th C. Oiled and in very good working order, striking the hours and half hours on a bell with a typically French "sweet" sound. Height, excluding handle, 32 cm: width at base 17 cm: depth at base 14 cm. bun feet slightly irregular but not seen for all practicable purposes Slight split in case above dial, as shown.

This is for a mid Victorian circa 1870 French mantel clock.
Made of rosewood and inlaid fruit woods and in fine condition. Original Slide up glass front panel and complete with its original key and rear panel.
It is an 8 day and striking with a gorgeous silk suspension movement.
The dial is silvered with Roman numerals and with beautuful hands.
Side diamond shaped glazed panels, original brass carriage handle with glazed panel underneath.
This is a lovely rare clock and with the amazing silk suspension movement.
