Royal Albert Porcelain

If you love chintz, then Royal Albert porcelain is exactly what you need to complete that English country look. Many of Royal Albert's most famous patterns feature floral designs, perfect for afternoon tea sets, elaborate cake stands and tableware for light summer lunches.

If you've already got a set of Royal Albert china, pick up extra place settings or replace broken items. Look out for listings that allow you to select individual pieces in a specific pattern. As well as floral tableware, Royal Albert is also famous for its Beatrix Potter figurines.

Old Country Roses

Possibly the most well-known Royal Albert pattern, Old Country Roses features clusters of burgundy, yellow and pink roses finished with gilt edging. A whole range of tableware is available, from plates and bowls, to tureens, sauce boats and cake stands. Royal Albert even produces trinket boxes and tea caddies decorated in Old Country Roses.

Heirloom

Heirloom is one of Royal Albert's older patterns. It dates back to the 1920s, however, Heirloom tableware was also produced in the 1960s and 70s. Earlier pieces are marked with a crown stamp, while newer items read ‘Bone China' on the base. The Heirloom pattern is Imari influenced, featuring a thick dark blue rim interspersed with orange and gold flower designs.

Other Floral Royal Albert Patterns

Lady Carlyle is another famous floral pattern. Its dark pink and gilt edging is interspersed with bunches of light pink, blue and yellow flowers, perfect for serving afternoon tea. Moonlight Rose is decorated with blue flowers and edged with gilt and Memory Lane is also blue and gilt, but it features a more delicate forget-me-not design. Senorita, Tahiti and Masquerade are three striking patterns that combine bold coloured roses with black.

Beatrix Potter Figurines

Beatrix Potter figurines were originally produced by Beswick, but from 1989 until 1998 they were stamped with the Royal Albert backstamp. The figures are cute models of characters from the Beatrix Potter books. They include individuals like Foxy Whiskered Gentleman, Hunca Munca the mouse and Miss Moppet the kitten. Many of these figurines are highly collectible.
