Stay Connected with a Sky Hub

A Sky Hub offers you a perfect wireless connection to the internet. The built-in firewall keeps your internet and WiFi connections secure at all times. Suitable for use with both broadband and fibre optic connections, a Sky Hub is the ideal box for keeping you connected whilst keeping up with technological advancement. Whatever your needs and budget, there is sure to be a Sky Hub to match your needs and budget on eBay.

What connection speeds can you expect?

You will find two Sky Hubs for sale on eBay, the standard Sky Hub and the Sky Q Hub. The regular hub will give you transfer speeds of up to 100Mb whereas the Sky Q Hub offers speeds of up to 1GB. The hub allows you to connect up to 32 devices via WiFi. This is the same with the Sky Q Hub, although this router is dual-band, offering two connections that run simultaneously so that you will experience less interference.

What features does the Sky Hub have?

The Sky Hub and Sky Q Hub are packed with features. Some of the most important ones include:

  • Ethernet ports: The Sky Hub has 4 ports for connecting your gadgets whereas the Sky Q Hub has 2.
  • Eco-friendly: Both boxes switch to low-power mode when not in use.
  • Security: A strong firewall protects you from incoming threats and allows you to restrict internet usage at certain times of the day and block access to unsafe URLS.
  • WiFi hotspots: With the Sky Q box, you can turn all of your Sky Q TV boxes into WiFi hotspots.
How do you set up a Sky Hub?

To achieve the top speeds, you will need to connect your hub to the master phone socket. Place your hub near this, not on the floor, and away from other electrical items as they can affect WiFi connections. Plug the microfilter, which should be included in your package into your phone socket, and then connect your hub to this using the grey DSL cable, which should then be plugged into the broadband socket on your hub. Plug your hub in and wait for it to connect. It might need to download software when you first switch it on so this could interrupt your connection for a short while.
