Tamron 18-270 Focal Length Camera Lens

If focal length is important to you then a Tamron 18-270 lens is a great choice. Tamron is a respected photographic brand with a wide range of camera accessories to choose from.

This Tamron lens is packed with features and the quality of its capabilities is surprising as it is so compact. With so many useful extras, you will certainly get good value for your money.

Ease of use

This lens is very lightweight so it is ideal for travelling. It captures high quality images from a long distance, so it is useful if you not want to take a full set of lenses travelling with you.

Tamron's 18-270 focal length lens covers all bases from wide angle to telephoto. It is solid yet has a light feel, weighing just 450g, making it easy to handle. Vibration compensation steadies the viewfinder so you can take stable images easily and the zoom ring has a rubbery surface for an easy grip. The lens barrel can extend to an 18mm position and also has a lock for when the camera is not in use.

Versatile performance

The Tamron 18-270 focal length lens produces sharper images at slow shutter speeds due to its high vibration control and a Piezo Drive motor also adds to its autofocus capabilities. The ratio of the zoom lens is everything from a 28mm wide angle to a 419mm telephoto, making it a superzoom piece of kit.

The autofocus is a little slower than other similar cameras, but the benefit is that it is very quiet, which is perfect for when shooting wildlife or in any other quiet space.

A robust build

This lens is built to fit Canon and Nikon camera bodies and is longer with a wider barrel than similar lenses. The lens is compact enough for travel yet powerful enough to capture images at a distance and low dispersion glass elements within the lens reduce chromatic aberration. The lens usefully comes with a lens hood, dust cap and lens cap but you may also wish to invest in a lens case .
