This sale is for a delightful Staffordshire pottery teapot with 4 London-shape breakfast tea cups, dating to around 1830 or 1840. It is decorated with an unusual vaguely Gothic flow blue design that reminds me of 'Alice in Wonderland'. Standing 16.5cm high and 23cm long for the teapot (including the spout) the condition of all 5 pieces is amazingly good – there is only a tiny nibble under the foot of one cup and 4 tiny fleabites under the rim of the teapot lid (so never normally visible). Please see my Ebay shop for more S.E. Asian, Indian, and Islamic antiques and antiquities.
A lovely trio of saucers from a child's tea set dating from around 1850. They are made of pearlware and are transfer printed in cobalt blue with a floral or botanical design featuring lilies, honeysuckle and passionflowers.
