Here we have an original large twin pedestal writing desk made from teak. Each pedestal sits on retro splayed legs which is unusual for a desk of this size. It has on the left pedestal 2 drawer and a filing drawer with separators.
There are drawers and cupboards on either side which are great for storing a computer and other ancillaries. Modernisation in the far-eastern country has seen many of the old style wooden buildings replaced with brick and mortar.
Utilising only the very best grade materials, their master craftsman created high quality furniture. An externe rare design, this desk features 2 pedestals of 2 drawers which float on the solid legs to give an illusion of openness.
When G Plan hired V B Wilkins, little did they know that he would create what was to become one of the most iconic designs of the 1960’s, something that would become a style icon and be sought after for many decades to come. With 4 spacious drawers in 2 floating pedestals, the desk has ample storage for your paperwork and stationary and offers a great surface space perfect for your Laptop or Desktop computer as well as tablets and other smaller devices. There is also a further concealed “secret” drawer in the centre of the unit lined in felt (Black or Purple dependent on stock) perfect for pens, writing paper and notebooks.
1965 could be argued as one of the best years for G Plan design with R Bennett creating the stunning Quadrille range of furniture in luxurious Teak with beautiful Rosewood handles. An elegant and striking design, this desk is a stunning Danish inspired design suspended above floor level on stunningly delicate looking but highly robust legs that support the weight of the drawer pedestal, cupboard pedestal and ample surface space created by the curved teak floating top. The drawers and cupboard area are perfect for clothes, paperwork, craft items or anything else you need stashing out of sight.
