Hand Blown Tall Isle of Wight / Early Mdina Square Glass Vase. Square shape with tortoiseshell pattern and irridescent blue streaks. 1960s / 1970s. There is a rough unpolished pontil mark on the base - and there are a couple of teeny weeny flaws in the making.
A cool & very beautiful small glass vase from the Vinciprova art glass studio in Murano, Italy. ART GLASS. Hand blown, it still retains its original sticker. "VINCIPROVA". (ESPECIALLY IF ALL THE OTHER WATCHERS FORGET) !

A mid century WMF Ikora art glass vase. It is of large bulbous form with a small neck so is more for decoration rather than to be used for flowers. These large examples were also sometimes used as lamp bases.
"A 1970s Prachen 'Flower Vase' designed by Josef Hospodka in 1969. Juxtaposing freeform organic or abstract motifs with a mould blown, geometric form is highly unusual, and the contrast is almost suggestive of mechanical components, outer space, futuristic technology and alien life forms.
The vase is made by the glass bower having the hobnail base held in a mould and then "swinging" the molten glass to form the "fingers". The vase has two tiny nibbles to the face of the hobnails (these are to the rear of the vase).
