Wood Veneer Vintage/Retro Kitchen and Dining Tables
Wood veneer vintage or retro kitchen and dining tables are available in a wide range of different designs and veneers from a very plain, simple 1950s style with four slim legs and a plain top with slight curves at the ends, to ornate, inlaid walnut veneered tables with two extension leaves. The latter has quite chunky carved legs and carved edges to the table top. They can be used with one extension or both, offering a choice that enables you to accommodate a dinner party of varying numbers.
A retro walnut veneer oval kitchen dining table can have plain straight legs and an extension leaf. More ornate in design is a flip top mahogany veneered table with rounded ends and an extension leaf. Some tables sit on pedestal legs with ball and claw feet with casters, making it easy to move around the dining room.
Drop leaf table ideal for the smaller home
A drop leaf table has gate legs and can be finished in a teak veneer. This style is ideal for the smaller home since, when not in use, the leaves drop down so it can just be put to one side of the room out of the way. Other drop leaf tables are available with an oak veneered top, some of which also have ornately carved legs.
Many of these wood veneer vintage/retro kitchen and dining tables can be in a fairly simplistic 1950s style and will fit in well with ultra- modern furniture and with modern style rooms. However, some of the more ornate designs such as the flip top mahogany veneer table or the inlaid walnut veneer extending dining table with two extension leaves will sit very comfortably with any antique, Victorian or Edwardian furniture you may have. Alternatively they can also be used as a specific feature within the room to create a focal point.
