    The show wood frame is bobbin turned in a traditional country/rustic style and is made from an assortment of local woods. When this chair was first made it probably would have been painted, so the chair maker would have used what woods he had available and where local to him.

    This is as nice a Georgian armchair as you will see. The chair dates to around 1800 and may well be Welsh in origin. The chair is very unusually made of fruit wood, probably apple or pear. The splat is simple and elegant.

    A remarkable and unusual pair of early 19th Century French rosewood and brass inlaid armchairs, upholstered in a grey linen fabric, with a shaped and scrolled back, the padded arms with carved and readed supports with nice scroll decoration, supported on scrolled cabriole legs at the front and sabre legs at the rear. Circa 1820. HEIGHT: 37" WIDTH: 20" DEPTH: 24".
