Baby bibs catch as much as possible of the food that doesn't make it into your baby's mouth, or which makes it in only to come back out again a few minutes later. While they might not keep 100% of this spillage from ending up on your baby's pristine clothing, bibs can still make a valuable contribution to keeping your child presentable when mealtimes take place outside of the home, without needing a full change of clothing.

Some baby bibs are made of a harder plastic, complete with a lower lip to catch any dropped items - and this can also help to avoid the situation where your child is still hungry but all of their food is on the floor, as they can simply pick pieces of fruit back out of the bib.
