About Cheap New Laptops
Just a few years ago buying a new laptop would have meant parting with a lot of cash. In fact, it would probably have been the most expensive purchase you made all year. Now, as technology improves and the market widens, cheap new laptops are more accessible than ever.
Well-known brands such as Dell, Lenovo, Asus, HP and Toshiba have all produced basic models of their laptops, while budget brands or unbranded models can afford to go even lower with their pricing.
Before looking for a cheap laptop, make a list of your must-have qualities. If you will be using your laptop for work ask if it come with MS Office as standard. This software can be costly, so if the laptop does not come with the software package already installed, you will need to add this cost into your overall budget.
If you are using your laptop to stream video clips to a TV or larger computer screen, does it have a HDMI port? If you have a lot of photos, music or other large files, make sure your new laptop has enough storage space to handle all the data you already have, with room for more.
If you are looking for a second laptop, or something light and portable, consider buying a smaller notebook. While the narrow keyboard may take some getting used to, most 7? laptops weigh less than 1.5kg.
Finally, make sure you are buying a full kit, with laptop, charger and manual. Any extras, such as a free laptop case or mouse will be a bonus.
