About Fur Capes

Fur capes first came into fashion in the 1920s, they were a glamorous way for flappers to keep their shoulders warm in the more revealing dresses of the time. It is safe to say that they've been in fashion ever since; fur capes are a timeless piece and will never lose their style. Fur capes come in a wide range of colours and sizes which means there is one for every outfit; from a short cape which would work as the perfect accompaniment to a strapless dress on a cold night, or even a white fur cape which would add a touch of glamour to any winter wedding, to longer capes which can be worn more casually every day instead of a traditional coat. Whilst a real fur coat may not be everyone's cup of tea, for obvious reasons, many are actually faux fur and have all the benefits of fur without the controversy. Also, if a complete fur cape isn't really your style there are many with a more simple fur trim which give a more understated look. There is a fur cape for everyone; vintage capes are widely available which again iterates how timeless they really are, white capes for brides and bridesmaids are readily available, and Romany capes which have a more day to day look. There are even capes with hoods which will keep you not only warm but also dry on a daily basis.
