About HMS Active
Imagine standing on deck of a 28-gun sailing frigate of the 18th century, riding the high seas. During the Seven Years' War, Sir Thomas Slade designed the Coventry Class Frigate for the British Royal Navy; twelve were made, including the first HMS Active. Launched in 1758, the HMS Active was captured 20 years later by two French frigates off the coast of San Domingo. The Royal Navy continued to dub its flagships HMS Active until the final HMS Active, a Type 21 frigate launched in 1972, was sold to the Pakistan Navy in 1994. Photos and memorabilia of the HMS Active are popular collector's items, and many are available on eBay, along with memorabilia for other ships such as HMS Dido, HMS Aurora, and HMS Boxer. Look for eBay's Top-rated sellers, who provide excellent customer service, great prices on new and used items, and often free delivery of your order.
