About Kite Material
When creating your own kite, make sure you choose the right kite material to ensure you fly high with success. For a traditional kite, use a lightweight tissue paper. Tissue paper is inexpensive to purchase and can be easily cut to the correct size. Another popular option for kite material is Ripstop Nylon. This woven material does not rip easily and it is strong and waterproof. It does require sewing and can be difficult to make it look neat and tidy. If you are looking for a kite material that you can paint, choose polyester cotton, readily available from eBay sellers. Polyester cotton is a fairly heavy material and is the choice of many kite professionals. Silk is a lightweight material, but in very strong winds, it is prone to ripping. Whatever the material of your choice, be sure to purchase enough of it with some spare to tie the material to the frame of the kite securely. Use the kite material of choice and fly your kite to the highest of heights.
