About Lego Friends

The Lego Group, a company based in Billund, Denmark, has been famous for producing a large range of colourful toy sets for children since 1949. Its huge catalogue of toy sets has included construction sets that feature the famous Lego building blocks and mini figures. In 2012, the company launched a new product range, aimed specifically at young girls aged between five and twelve years of age. Features The Lego Friends range features mini dolls, which are approximately the same size as the classic Lego mini figure, although they are designed to be more detailed and more realistic. In contrast to the multicoloured toy sets previously produced by the company, Lego Friends toy sets feature a distinctive pink and purple colour scheme, as this is considered to be more appealing to girls. This range features characters and scenes based in a fictional town called Heartlake City. Buildings and characters Like other Lego toy sets, Lego Friends features a range of buildings and related vehicles and figures to collect, which can be combined together to create Heartlake City. These toy sets include a high school, dolphin cruiser, stage, tree house and summer riding camp, amongst other elements, which are based on Heartlake City characters and places. The main characters in this series include Olivia, Stephanie, Emma, Mia and Andrea, with each character having their own distinctive characteristics, personalities, hobbies and clothing. The main characters also have a variety of friends, family and neighbours who all work and live in Heartlake City.
