I bought this step for indoor use and will use it at the base of the bottom stair. This will prevent any jarring to my legs. I recommend Tek halfsteps to anyone who has deficulty with stairs. I also have a Tek halfstep at the base of of lowest step near my front door. They are suitable for both indoors and outside.

This step, unlike most others, has a mid line support on the long sides which makes it just that little bit safer as it supports and distributes the weight without too much sagging as the person uses it.
