We had to use this book for our signals/systems class. The topics cover both discrete and continuous signals, although we only went through the continuous. I personally thought the book was really clear and concise; the only thing though is that you'll really have to read each line of text to benefit. He introduces the book with a chapter completely devoted to math reviews such as on partial fractions, euler's formula, and other probably much forgotten concepts. Each chapter builds upon the other so you won't get lost. The example problems are nice to see as some pertain to the chapter questions. The only thing bad I found are that he does not include the solutions to any of the chapter questions which makes checking your answers a pain. Overall, this book is great as both a core text or reference.Read full review
this is a good book, well written, has good examples, and has matlab sections to help teach you matlab which is great. the only downfall i have come across so far, and it's a big one(for me atleast), there are no answers in the back, and this makes it difficult to make sure that you are learning the material because you cannot check your answers against the correct ones. other than that it is a good book though. I think i am understanding the beginning of the material, and im just doing it as summer pre-class reading to get a head start. I would reccomend it, esp if you are good at finding solution manuals.
Excellent textbook in the field of linear systems for undergraduate students. A good explanation of convolution techniques.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
the book has matlab example code however the code is outdated and doesn't work with the new versions of matlab. the chapters are long and cover a lot of material. it gives the history of some of the theorems which is interesting.
This book is highly recommended to those students looking for fundamental concepts and understanding. This book is through in material. Has introductory chapter to familiarize with prerequisites. Lots of examples to get hold of applications as well.
This book is excellent. The material is presented in a straightforward way and there are plenty of examples. The book also has many problem sets to do for practice. And, if you get stuck, this book has solutions on cramster to help you along.
Bought this for University course on Electronic systems and signals. This is a very thorough book and Lathi has presented it in a useful order. This is recommended by most of my lecturers.
The only difference between this book and the actual one is that the appendix is at the back instead of the front. But other than that it was a great buy! I'm glad to have purchased my text book from this user.
The book has the things you need to know in it. It doesn't do a good job of explaining things in terms a student could understand. I bought the international edition and not everything is the same as the hardcover U.S. edition. "Eh" at best.
This is a great book for Signals and Controls systems .. i love this book .. the international editions is excatly the same as the regular .. awesome price...
