    The Killing Man, by Mickey Spillane

    I read all of Mickey Spillanes paperbacks as a teenager and especially liked the Mike Hammer series. So, I purchased The Killing Man, mainly as a trip down memory lane. Mike and Velda are back, and it is business as usual, but for a few twists. Mike no longer smokes Luckies, or drinks to excess, but he still loves Velda, and carries his big bore .45. The violence is toned down a bit, not much of the wanton destruction, and slapping around of punks, and junkies, that I was so fond of, though. Thankfully, Mike is still Mike, and author Spillane has not let the private eye sucumb to the modern trappings of personal computers, pagers, or cell phones. Political correctedness is forgoten as well. Mike doesn't ring a doorbell and say, "Please open up," he kicks the damn thing down. And, as ...

    Mickey Spillane hardcover book, The Killing Man

    Book was in great condition but the story is better. You could buy a paper back book but wouldn't it be better to buy a hardcover if you want to enjoy the story and retain something that keeps its value? This book was a good read and a good deal.
