    These are the only long term solution I have found for leak-proof repairs. They are a bit tricky to install, especially with thicker, quality hoses. The main problem people seem to have is getting the repair piece into the hose itself. Less often, there are complaints about fitting the clamp around the fitting once the hose is in place. Remembering that these qualities may make it difficult to install but are, in fact, positives (a tight fit is what you want, isn't it?) the solution is preparedness. First, cut the ends of the hose off square and clean. Second, have a reliable method of heating the hose right at hand. Some people use hot water, which should work fine. I favor a portable propane torch. Third-get the fitting ready and in place. Remove the clamps and put them on the ...
