Carlson portrays a good guy who shares an open-minded mindset. His fiancee, Barbara Rush, witness an Interstellar spacecraft crash into a mountain outside of town. Carlson rushes to investigate with Rush. The aliens must survive to repair their craft. But, there's a problem. McGraw plays the County cop perfectly : a closed - minded hot-head who has serious doubts about Carlson's fantastic theory of alien invasion.     I saw this movie on TCM a few years back and before that I hadn't been a big 50s sci-fi fan well this movie changed all that!! This movie is great right up there with The Day The Earth Stood Still, Forbidden Planet, and The Creation of the Humanoids. Fantastic picture great acting cool aliens with an Invasion of the Body Snatchers feel to it!! If you are looking for reasurrence BUY IT!!
