    Review from a Blues fan

    I am not a music scholar, & in no way qualified to write a professional review. What I am, is a somewhat knowledgeable Blues fan. I purchased this CD as a replacement for my scratchy worn out, 40+ year old vinyl, with these same selections. I really like the early Ray Charles numbers for their strong blues & gospel influence. I appreciate the raw blues energy & vitality, that was put aside as Ray matured, & moved away from his roots into the mainstream. If you are not familiar with his earliest works-listen in & be hooked. I crave them frequently. This CD is high quality, & does the "HIGH PRIEST" justice. Craig McClure

    Good Live Concert. May be not the best as some reviewers say.

    I've only listened to this once and that was more in the background. It didn't compel to sit down and listen. I've seen a Ray Charles concert on video and it was good. I was hoping this was better. Perhaps it is. This is a lame review, I know.

    early ray charles.

    I love Ray Charles and have long considered his live recording in Atlanta in the late 50's to be one of the best of this giant's many recordings. Raw and pure, it just doesn't get better than this.
