    THE superlative submarine/U-boat drama, unmissable, TV series best & never bettered.5🌟

    Absolute classic German TV series, a must see. I already have this but had get one for my brother who loves it too (as did my father), since 1st broadcast 1980s, theme music still remembered: we watched this genuinely claustrophobic life on & below the waves with the terror, anticipation, bated breath, of the superbly acted sympathetic characters & still do! This is THE superlative submariner drama; regardless of nationality protagonists & theme - ALL Sub/U-BOATS crews shared same conditions, dramas through both Wars but this WWII. Impossible not to engage emotionally with the characters regardless of (Hitler's) regime, these are humans in hostile situations. I dare you not to be affected by this from start to finish.Get the TV series not the shorter Movie version. 5🌟 everytime.

    A great title, a great film.

    The version I purchased had both German and English audio. Obviously the lip sync is out if you listen in English, but that does not detract from the film. It also has many subtitle options. This version is the full 4 hours and 42 minutes long, so be prepared before you start watching. It is a riveting film from the start and will hold you until the end. If you are thinking about buying this dvd, then stop thinking and buy it. You will really like it.

    It is a absolutely fantastic film,the only film that really portrayed believable characters. For some unknown reason I had sympathy with them considering my father was in the Royal Navy trying to sink them. A great film get the uncut version not the directors cut. Ben

    Best submarine movie ever made

    The movie is very well made war movie about german submarine U-96 which served in the second world war. It is said to be the greatest war movie ever made. Movies script and acting is very well done as is the special effects. I suggest you to watch the movie if you are interested in anykind of submarine or war movie.
