    One of the Best 60's Classic Comedy TV Shows

    The comedy team of Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis was a match made in heaven. The show was beautifully written and executed with perfect comic timing. Very daring for its time but was a huge success and is still treasured and loved by millions of viewers worldwide today. This particular dvd presentation was absolutely first rate with an abundance of very interesting and insightful bonus interviews and biographies of the stars of the show. The conversion and digital reworking of the show to the final dvd form was magnificent with superb clarity and sound. As explained in the bonus documentaries of the stars - this show was an enormous amount of physical and mental strain on star Fred Gwynne, but he gave of his all and more, episode after episode, so that generation after generation could be ...

    Disc missing....

    Upon openning box found disc 4 of season one was missing. I contacted eBay...I was informed return could be started at a cost to me of about $10 ...the complete set cost $32. This to me was not worth the effort...

    I always waited for the show to come on growing up and it was always funny so when I and my brothers grew up we started to have a haunted house display every Halloween since 1972 and as Frankensteins' monster, I can say this DVD set makes feel right at home!

    The Munsters DVD

    A lot of comedy shows written in the 1960’s were based on families that were unusual: Bewitched, The Addams Family, My Favorite Martian, and The Munsters. These shows relied on camera trickery, amazing make-up, or both. Also, the humor in these shows was often very clever. The viewers came to these programs for escape from ho-hum everyday life, and they got it. A lot of programs made during the 1960’s still hold up today as fine entertainment, and that includes The Munsters. It’s great fun, with wonderful gags, and is an important part of our television heritage.
