I bought this for the content, ie the writers thoughts, so no problem there. The cover of the book itself was a bit grubby, easily fixed by wiping it down…

The book was sticky and dirty. It cleaned up though with an antibacterial wipe.

Compelling and insightful account of human evolution

If you are interested in learning more about the evolution of our [and related] species, this provides a superb summary. It is easy to read and brings together strands of material into a coherent account of human development. Where there is insufficient knowledge to state absolute truths, the author makes well reasoned explanation, into credible explanations. A compelling read.

  • Great read

This is a compelling and thought provoking story of the history and impact of our species. It could easily have been a heavy read but the author has an easy style that makes the book digestible without diluting the information and messages.

  • Eloquent and Enlightening

The author writes with compelling authority, without being didactic, and avoids the usual patronising pedagogical pitfalls associated with presenting such a broad sweep of human history. A very fine and enjoyable thought provoking read.

Well put together in a very readable style could not put it down. The author weaves together a lot of research from many sources in a very interesting way.
