    It's Texas Rangers vs. the Comanches

    This is an extremely enraging mini-series which features a plethora of actors led by Val Kilmer who is, as usual, absolutely wonderful. The mini-series is 284 minutes long. It is spread over two dvd's. The series is matted to 1.85 widescreen and claims to be anamorphic. I viewed it through an HDMI cable and was no more than an average picture. Picture was NOT remastered. The stereo mix was below par. The story is historically quite accurate and is a prequel to the Lonesome Dove mini-series. All of the series' begs for a remastering and a release on Blu Ray. Until then, I highly recommend this DVD.

    These DVDs are defective. On the disc side in red pen it was marked “BooBoo5X” and it was definitely a boo-boo! The first disc was full of glitches catching and stalling as they do. I cleaned it and that didn’t help. Totally unwatchable. It should have been thrown out instead of being sold.

    Part two of the Lonesome Dove saga.

    I was very glad to get the DVD of part two of the Lonesome Dove story. I can honestly say that it is just almost as good as the original. The actors played the characters spot on and it explained a lot about what and why things happened in the Lonesome Dove Mini series.

    Second best of the Lonesome Dove series

    After the first Lonesome Dove, This is my favorite. The characters are portrayed in the style created by the first cast. Steve Zahn has Robert Duvall's Gus down to a fault and Karl Urban pulls off the taciturn Call in the image of Tommy Lee Jones. One of my favorite roles for Val Kilmer as well.
