    This book is a most heartwarming read. The DVD movie is too. It will always remain one of my favourites. I really can’t recommend it highly enough.

    The Book Thief and the book

    Follows the book quite closely. As the book is some six hundred pages, to include all that happens in it in a two hour movie would be impossible. But the selection of what is essential to the story and what is not has been well done. For example, all the thieving expeditions that Liesel , Rudi, and their gang go on are not included. The addition of thr scenes that were cut from the final product shows how unimportant they were. I would suggest that anyone should first read the book before viewing the dvd. You will then appreciate it much more. Dick Ludlow

    The story is sad depicting a terrible time in our history. A good film nonetheless.

    I enjoyed the movie adaptation of the book. Like all movies it did not fully portray the book’s characters. However, it did not lose the overall story.
