I reached out to the seller (which I've had to do every time I've bought a cable from him), and he seemed pretty confident that the problem isn't the cable this time. The 220MHz version of the TH-9000 seems to be tricky to program, and the one I'm trying to program has been modified by a previous owner, so there may be another factor (other than the cable) that's the problem.
