The EA Sports Hockey League team mode returns with more customization options, while the Be a Pro mode features career-defining moments, and the card-collecting Hockey Ultimate Team mode introduces the team-building HUT Synergy system. Gameplay adjustments include improved passing, more responsive skating and stopping, enhanced hit mechanics, and net battles, while goalies have improved positional awareness to make athletic or technical saves.

    One of the better NHL games

    This is probably the best NHL to date. The gameplay is great, the smallest bumps can cause someone to loose control of the puck, the checking is very good, the new sliders and difficulty make it where you can play how you want and there are so many options you can adjust. I love the create a team feature, iv spent a lot of time on it already. The custom logos are not all that great, not much detail to them more like a cartoon, not a large variety of custom logos, needs to include other leagues logos not just the NHL. In free agency a random "player" is a rated 99 makes no sense, have to place him on a team in order to edit his stats then put him back into free agency. Be a pro mode is slightly improved, it is a bit easier to get XP, but still needs improved. Almost the same as last ...

    Buy it if you are a hardcore fan otherwise stick with your '16

    It's ok...just ok. Lots of improvements as far as adjustability goes and a lot more added content as far as versions of game play. But really it looks exactly the same as last year's game. The cpu AI is lacking to say the least and the game feels a bit redundant whole playing. I like to play a game or two and then that's it for awhile. If the latest HUT and game play isn't a concern I'd save your money or at least find it on sale.
