    A Great Time Capsule Journey Back to the Late 50s

    We stumbled on this 1950s series when DECADES ran it one weekend. This is a well-paced half-hour adventure with fine acting, very cool automobiles and other period goodies. Most of them were largely shot outdoors, no Hollywood staging. Great stuff.

    The story and character charged show is timeless. The stories make sense and the characters have great depth. The various crimes,situations and rescues kept it interesting. I love watching the old shows. Dan Matthews (Broderick Crawford) is strong, compassionate, and a great lead.

    The Highway Patrol is Must See TV.

    This is a fabulous TV series showing how the Highway Patrol tracks down and catches criminals who try to commit the perfect crime. And fast talking Broderick Crawford is perfect as cop Dan Mathews who is in charge of this police force that is always bringing another criminal to justice. i was a big fan of Highway Patrol when it first appeared on TV in the 1950's and I still enjoy watching reruns of the show today.

    A very good police series from the fifties -it provided a base for future shows such as Dragnet, Chips, Adam 12 etc. It also provides a lot of views of fifties cars if you are into car oldies. Good actors and plots.

    50's TV at it's Best.

    Broderick Crawford is a 50's TV Icon for his role in Highway Patrol. Those of us who grew up in that era loved watching Dan Matthews catch the bad guys. This was one of the action TV shows that filmed almost entirely outdoors. I love to be able to see it again. Highly Recommend.
