A shooter from the developers of the acclaimed Left 4 Dead series, Evolve finds up to four gamers joining forces to take down massive, player-controlled monsters. Set in the distant future on the planet Shear, where vicious aliens have begun to demolish once prosperous colonies, Evolve lets gamers choose from four character classes and then coordinate and execute attacks, or take control of different monsters and try to destroy the hunters. Though optimized for multiplayer action, Evolve also includes a solo mode, with AI controlling the remaining participants.<br><br>There are three characters within each of the Assault, Trapper, Medic, and Support classes, with each offering a unique set of weapons and specializations. The monsters also have specific skills, with the massive Goliath featuring heavy armor and the ability to breathe fire, the Kraken capable of flying and producing electric attacks, and the Wraith using stealth skills to teleport, abduct, and create decoys. Monsters can also evolve into stronger forms during the course of battle, though they become vulnerable during brief cocoon stages. There are five distinct modes in Evolve, including basic hunts, matches to protect eggs, defend power stations, and protect injured colonists, and the all-encompassing five-match Evacuation mode.

    Good game.

    Game arrived on time and looks great and plays good. When it arrived the disk was popped out and moved about. Used glass cleaner and was perfect. Not sure of the Code worked, only got go get 7 downloads out of what looked like 25 or so.

    Unique yet limited

    Evolve is unlike any competitive multiplayer I've played, its unique 4v1 system is interesting and that is what makes the game for the most part, good. However, the game is so limited in options that some may find the gameplay repetitive. You basically have two main options, solo, which is you against AI according to your rules, and online multiplayer. The multiplayer has only 3 competitive modes and a private match option for friends only in nonranked matches. The first mode is the hunt, what the game was based around. 4 hunters each of a unique class need to find and kill a monster before it evolves into a more powerful stage 3 and destroys an objective. While this is the most exciting mode, my problem with it is the team proportions. While monsters and 4 hunters are for the most part ...

    Great game but player base is slim.

    The player base has sunk a bit and playing as a human can be hard if you're team isnt too fond of tactical/strategic gaming. Otherwise it's great !!! Playing as the monster is always really great whether your a "noob" or a pro it's always fun to kill some animals....... and humans ;)
