pn-60 could be better
The screen is small and there isn't a custom page to put other info on. and where did the vertical profile go. it is hard to store and retrieve your trip. The battery life is better than before but it doesn't seem to be state of the art, and the topo 10 is missing a lot of trails. One should be able to interact with others that have hiked or rode public paths, or at least map your trips in 3D. I had the pn-20 and got a bike mount so I stayed with is, but my pn-40 would short out and drain my battery dead so I would lose my info and way back. I went back to my pn-20, but it would not use the new topo software. Most users may not find it user friendly, I think the pn-60 will be reliable and I may learn to use it in a few years. I wish it was really cool to use but difficult comes to mine. I don't know that others are a better value and the price has come down. best of luck and get some exercise. Good for Geocaching

A Good Handheld GPS That Has Been Discontinued.
The handheld GPS works well and integrates with the TOPO 8 software though the software is quirky, and Delorme no longer supports this device or software. You are still able to plan routes and transfer maps. The discrepancies are that the TOPO 8 maps do not include the Eastern US disc and the rechargeable battery is used and doesn't charge well. The automobile charger and USB connection work to charge the battery but the battery charge indicator on the satellite page doesn't reflect accurate charge status. Otherwise a dependable handheld GPS with compatibility with TOPO Quad maps.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
