      The SP-38 is a great addition to the IC-7300

      The IC-7300 has an excellent top mounted internal speaker but the SP-38 external speaker is a wonderful addition to my IC-7300. The SP-38 makes a noticeable difference because the speaker is pointing out towards you and the sound quality is excellent. As you can see in the photo it's a perfect match with the IC-7300. Underneath the SP-38 is a pull out stand which the IC-7300 also has. I'm extremely satisfied and have no regrets and highly recommend this product.

      So-So matching speaker. Looks good.

      The speaker works fine as designed. I was expecting it to be more low - mid frequency audio. It's only slightly better than the built-in speaker on the IC-7300 radio for which I bought it. I think the money could be better spent on a higher end speaker. At least it matches the radio, so I'll keep it and maybe do some internal mods to help take out the hash noise. I don't recommend if you're looking to improve audio quality. I don't believe the value is there for audio quality. Rather, it just matches the radio. The quality in terms of construction is fine, but not functionality for audio.

      Good Sound

      I heard reports saying this speaker is not much better than the speaker in the radio, only that this speaker faces you. Not true, there is a noticeable difference in sound quality, wider spectrum and much clearer then the stock radio speaker. If you have both 9700 & 7300 don't piggyback to one speaker, it will reduce sound quality. I bought two speakers.

      Great Speaker

      You can hear with this speaker as well or better than a headset. I have not used my headset since I got the speaker. It makes a world of difference on hear weak signals. Great buy!!!!

      over rated for the brand

      If you want consistency in the look of your 7300 station, great but the speaker is way too tinny and only amplifies radio hash
