Just the job for one or two PC's/Servers.
Bought second hand for just over £3 - unknown age and battery condition. Turns out it was 4 1/2 years old, but still plenty of battery life so I got lucky. This is a professional product, so uses the powerchute pro software. You can monitor voltage, supply issues, and consumption costs (I presume it doesn#'t include the costs of the UPS itself, just the load). Auto shutdown of the attached computers works perfectly, including windows 8 machines. Perfect for my needs.

An excellent bit of kit!
Having worked in IT support for many years, I have worked with and owned a number of APC Smart-UPS (1500 VA) units. They have always kicked in when required and the only maintenance required is new batteries every 5 years. The Smart-UPS (750 VA) the junior version of the 1500 VA, in a smaller package. Retired now, I have had a 1500VA for the last 10 years protecting my PC and associated kit. We recently moved to the countryside and have experienced frequent brownouts and mini-outages. I therefore bought the 750VA to protect the TV, satellite and associated kit. Since installation it has performed perfectly. A big advantage of this range is that they are completely silent most of the time. The fans only switch on when there is a mains power outage and they are running on battery power. They are excellent bits of kit.

Very well built, compact and user friendly. The management interface very simple to use and invaluable to allow it to be 'seen' by a NAS. Very easy to replace the batteries too. Good bit of kit.

Near perfect refurbished UPS makes a lot of sense
Near perfect refurbished UPS makes a lot of sense. New batteries and a 12 month warranty says it all. They say it may have a little cosmetic ware and tare, but the one we got is 99.99% perfect.
