This book should be taught in schools. Excellent read. Great bargain for a hardback book in good condition. An intense study of the American Indians and their forced migration west. Many towns in Indiana Kentucky and Ohio are named after the early pioneers and Indians. I recommend.

This book has been written by a man who has done many years of research on the subject. Even thought it is historical, it reads like a novel. It is wonderful and I often got lost in time not wanting to put it down. It opened many new insights on the history of the Native American people - their life, the struggles, the joys, the sorrows. It is one of the best books I have read on the subject. It was almost like my Grandfather telling me the story. (He was 100% Shawnee.) Don't be turned off by its length. It is worth every moment of your reading time.
Love the author. Have not read book , yet. But it came in PAPERBACK, not hardcover!!!!! I I always prefer hardcover and always buy hardcover. Not happy about that aspect.
