The first butterfly effect was very good. Ashton Kutcher played the role great. The second one however got pretty boring and moved really slow. And wasn't as engaging as the first. The pack is for both features so make sure you want both if you buy them. Overall I am very happy with my purchase. Happy Shopping.

I sing high praises for the first film alone, but the 2nd film was not worth watching. The Blackouts that Ashton Kutcher hads really made the film interesting here. In the Butterfly Effect 2, we find Nick Larson (Eric Lively) and his best friends Trevor Eastman (Dustin Milligan) and Amanda (Gina Holden) are celebrating the twentieth-fourth birthday of his girlfriend Julie Miller (Erica Durance) in a beautiful lake on a Sunday morning. Nick is expecting to be promoted in the company where he works, and Julie is planning to move to his place instead of going to New York for her Masters degree. However, Nick is called by his colleague Dave Bristol (David Lewis), who is disputing the promotion with Nick, for a meeting with a client. While driving back, Nick has an accident and Julie and his friends die. One year later, Nick finds that he can travel in time and tries to fix the past, with tragic consequences for the future. BE2 is a very unpleasant movie, with a terrible and flawed screenplay. The best things in this film are the accidents on the road, and the gorgeous Erica Durance, from Smallville. The story really does not work and seeing this film is pure waste of time, and in the end it is better off watching the original again. As films go, the first film was quite well done even though it was a bit confusing at time. However, it always allowed you to resolve back to the main character which was Aston Kutcher. My initial responsiveness allowed me to come into this with an open mind and ask the director and the film to surprise me. After an hour of watching #2, a started having less and less expectations. By the end of the film, I realized I had totally lost around 90 minutes of my life. A real blackout would have done me much better than watching this film. Why so Bad? 1) They forgot the concept of blackouts, there are no blackouts here; the main character simply concentrates in a picture, everything shakes around him (a dumb visual effect) and he just travels in time back to points of important defining moments, or even still, just different alternative time-lines. That's it. 2) The screenplay is terrible and flawed. The plot is very flimsy, confusing and extremely boring. 3) The character development is zero and not even interesting. 4) Acting: Well, let's give them some credit, they did what they could. 5) The love history: A very common one. Does not add anything to the movie, it's not even romantic (like in the original where he always tries to save her). Before the end, Nick tries to break up with his girlfriend at the lake and this time she tells him that she's pregnant. 6) Whoever wrote the story does not appear to have seen the original or even studied it. It seems like he almost just looked at a review and shot the film the next day not putting any thought into the film's direction. 7) Inconsistencies throughout the film continually show us that all we are really seeing here are multiple possibilities of scenarios throughout the film. One such scenario shows another accident at the end where Nick dies alone and then their Julie must have had a baby alone. Another Flash-In just jumps him into a scene where his bosses daughter is teasing him into having sex at a dinner meeting? Wow, I think I could have thrown a film together a whole lot better than this and tied up the loose ends even, but somehow this was never accomplished. The 1st movie is great. The 2nd is not necessary. Neither film has special features. On some version (the early ones released) they lied. Those are the features on the B Effect 2 regular single move disc.
