There are also spaces to list possible plant purchases and suppliers, gardens to visit and reflections on gardens you have seen. Its illustrations are taken from the Phytanthoza Iconographia (1737-45), the first botanical work printed in colour on Continental Europe. The Phyanthoza was compiled by Johann Wilhelm Weinmann from his botanical drawings, some of which are by Georg Dionysius Ehret (1708-70), one of the greatest botanical artists of all time.
