    Good performer, but also hot and noisy

    It's a lot noisier than my older 2 Tb Barracuda and runs 10 °C hotter. Of course this one has five platters in a same space where Barracuda only have two. Seek and sequential read & write times are better with ES.3, but the transfer rates are a bit lower (because of the platter size 1000 Gb vs. 800 Gb).
