Firaxis' turn-based strategy series finds the XCOM forces in shambles and spread across the globe after 20 years of alien rule in XCOM 2. The aliens appear beneficent, building thriving cities around the planet, but they also secretly harbor less wholesome plans, and any who oppose their process are permanently dealt with. It's up to gamers to assemble the remaining XCOM forces, pilot a stolen alien supply craft named <i>The Avenger</i> around the world, recruit new resistance fighters, and make one last-gasp effort to expose the alien conspiracy and save the human race.<br><br>Players once again take on the role of an XCOM commander who gives orders to soldiers during combat, and then spends the time in between battles building new rooms on <i>The Avenger</i> and directing scientists and engineers to research new weapons, armor, and technology. Gamers can recruit five different classes of resistance fighter, each with specific skill trees and special class abilities, but there are also plenty of different aliens to battle, including the new ADVENT security forces. Combat has been slightly altered to offer guerrilla tactics befitting the new nature of XCOM as a resistance force, and procedurally generated levels mean the maps, missions, and goals are almost always different. Multiplayer fans can form squads featuring a mix of humans and aliens and engage in head-to-head action, and the game supports custom mods.

    Addictive gameplay!

    Quick delivery of emailed steam keys, longer to download the game from steam, even longer to finish game. Like chess with better graphics; way better graphics! Addictive but Jane Kelly, the ranger gets injured to often.

    Xcom 2 is better than Xcom EW

    This one is far better than the Enemy within game was, while not quite up to the first xcom from the 90's. Great graphics and game play, there seems to always be something pressing to do, you just want to keep playing to see what you can unlock next. The story is also good. Over all this is a game well worth the price and you will get many months of fun from it. Worth it, in my book.

    Absolutely must have. One of the best games ever made

    I rank this game w Skyrim and other Bethesda games. It is a worthy successor to the original XCom Enemy Within/Enemy Unknown. I have thus far played the game about 5 times over...and loving every minute of it.

    Freezes up

    What I have been able to play of the game is great. I have liked all the Xcom games. But this one freezes up each time I play which makes it very frustrating and a lot of replay of the same missions.
