Great game play, Decent graphics, cool story line, easy controls. Over all I give this game 3 stars. It has some very good things about it and some things that need some serious help like the auto camera angles and respawn times. The story line and fighting style were excellent had a lot of fun with this game still despite the downfalls of it.

Let me start by saying that I can be a pretty harsh critic when it comes to games. When I read the description of the game and watched the preview, it looked like it was going to be a fantastic game... For people that are looking to kill some time, I think you'll enjoy the game, but if you are looking for the next game that you'll be addicted to playing, nonstop for the next few weeks, I think that you should keep looking. The game has alot of potential, but it is still a little rough around the edges. Pros: The game has great graphics (even though some of the scenes can be really, really long, and also after you die, etc). Another thing that I did like was that even after you defeat the game, it is not over. You can use the same character you just beat the game with to replay the game at your current level with your current equipment. The replay value is pretty good. Ther story line is pretty good too. If you are interested in Mythology, you'll probably like the game. Cons: When you shoot at enemies, the guns do practically no damage. It seems like the game has problems detecting and properly gauging contact/damage during combat & fighting. The Automatic Aiming System also has poor aiming capabilities. If you end up getting frustrated with the Automatic Aiming & try to aim manually, the camera angle usually makes it impossible to aim accurately. If your interested enough to buy it, try renting it 1st if at all possible. If you can't rent it, I would strongly recommend downloading the free demo on Xbox Live and trying it a few times to get the hang of the combat controls. If you like demo, you will like the game. The description makes it sound like an ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE Game, but the game designers have a little work to do... If your SUPER Picky like me, I would wait for the next one to come out & hopefully they will have fixed some of the issues that should have been fixed before releasing this one. I think that the next game that follows this one will be phenominal- if they can fix the issues with Too Human.Read full review
This is a very great game for gamers who like RPG type games like World of Warcraft or dioblo. There are different classes with their own abilities, you can pic the class that suits you most, and it will keep you busy for quite a while. Its very fast paced and it is very replayable. This game takes you through all sorts of fun levels while killing massive amounts of enemies. As your enemies die they drop items for your suit, weapons, and other such items that you pick up. You can customize your character, the different suit items you pick up and put on will change the way you look and all have special traits on them as well as the weapons. The only flaw I have seen is when you are moving the camera angles can sometimes get a little messed up, but for the most part you won't have too much difficulty. on a all around scale I'd say this game would rate a 7/10 for people new to RPGs and a 8.5/10 for anyone who love RPG style games. I'm a Experienced gamer who love all style games and this is my personal opinion of this game. I hope it help you, Thanks for reading. This game hasn't reviewed or sold well and it's unfortunate. The game has a great story, and the gameplay is fun. Many people don't like the use of the R-stick for combat, but I found it easy to adapt to and it can be pretty fun zipping from creature to creature putting them all in a world of hurt. My only real complaint about the game is that it's just too short. You can replay levels and also do co-op. But this game is more than worth the 10 bucks you'll pay for it. If you're an Xbox Live gold member, you can even play Co-op with other people. Give it a try if you need a game to hold you over.
I bought this game for a very low price, and I think this is one of the best aquisitions I made regarding cost/entertainment. It in fact has a unusual controlling system, but 3 minutes of playing it make you understand how to shoot, how to hack and slash with R directional, how to control the camera with the pad. The profusion of weapons, armor and the way you can customize yourself is great, with different ways to end the game. I think it has a reasonable replayability, as playing as a bioengineer is different from a berserker or a commando. The story is a little confuse, but not annoying, and the enemies are harsh but no invincible, making a good fun to defeat them. The respawning system is in fact slow, and the camera modes sometimes bother you, but nothing as bad as everybody says.
I really enjoyed the game and for the money you can't beat it. Pros: 1. Awesome for people who like games that allow you to level up. 2. The sheer amount of weapons, armor, runes, and charms is unbelievable. 3. You can choose from 5 distinct classes of warriors, all significantly different and on top of that you can choose to go cybernetic or human. 4. The size of the levels is awesome. 5. After you beat it and start over you don't lose any of your equipment and the enemy gets stronger. 6. The online multi-player is my favorite part, especially if you are playing with some with a higher ranking. 7. The fact that you can trade equipment with people. 8. When you die you don't get punished you only get put back a couple hundred yards and sometimes right back into place. 9. Re-playable....the fact that you can play it over and over and it still be fun. Cons 1. Really needs a run/sprint button since the levels are so big, you can roll but that is just annoying. 2. A co-op offline would also be a nice addition. 3. Sometimes the camera catches a bad angle and you get a little turned around, but this could be solved by adding a map and/or compass. 4. Sometimes you can go a little while and not encounter enemies. 5. My least favorite part is the slow Valkyrie cut scene when you die...it takes forever and isn't part of the storyline. Overall, I give the game an 8 out of 10...has a couple things here and there but overall it is a good game that you can pick up rather cheap and if I am not mistaking I read that there is this is this the 1st of 3 planned Too Humans...so we will see.Read full review
Norse mythology has never been more exciting! Take control of Baldur, a Norse God who finds himself forced to defend mankind from a horde of ruthless war machines bent on destroying all human life. The game blends hand-to-hand melee combat and precision firearms warfare in riveting cinematic style. Combos are easy to learn and rewarding to master, meaning you can maximize your divine abilities! Visual effects are designed to help you feel the full heat of battle, with music geared toward bringing out all its furor, exhilaration, and anguish. Too Human's the first of a three-part story, so get ready for more epic adventures once you've survived this one. The only thing I did not like is that you can not skip through the cinematic scene of when you die; after about three times of this in the game, it gets frusterating to watch it over and over again. The game itself is beautiful and the story is captivating. There is no lagging what-so-ever though there are times that the fighting scenes are disrupted and obtrusive. I have played it many times and will most likely play it again - it is just that kind of game.Read full review
Too Human is rough around the edges, but has a very fun hack-and-slash, loot-grabbing core. A Norse God, armed with a sword and gun, you run dungeons and clear hordes of enemies to level up and get new and more powerful armor and weapons. There is also an online co-op mode so that you can play with a friend. It took me 14 hours to clear the dungeons once and complete the story, but the game is designed for you to run those dungeons multiple times to keep progressing your character. I expect that it takes about 35 hours to hit maximum level. Unfortunately, even though there are 5 different classes and a talent tree for each to specialize your character, none of this has much of an effect on the gameplay. You will play (for the most part) the same way no matter how you spec. The menus could have been designed better. And finally, the story (even though it starts with an awesome premise: Norse mythology reimagined) is cheesy and terribly done. I would strongly recommend downloading the free demo on Xbox Live and trying it a few times to get the hang of the combat controls. If you like demo, you will like the game. Despite all its flaws, Too Human is a game that I have enjoyed quite a bit.Read full review
Too Human is a very polarizing game those that hate it hate it, those that like it like it theres very few people who fall in between. If youre looking for a GET IT! or DONT GET IT! opinion here, Id advise you decide for yourself by downloading and playing the demo if its still available. The demo is the first level and the rest of the game is simply more of the same. Personally, I think Too Human is awful. It is a western kusoge. Its a mess of a game in concept and execution. The game looks really ugly. The writing is silly and cliched trying so hard to be epic and failing so miserably (the first boss is Grendel which isnt even from Norse mythology) There are even obvious bugs left in the game that have never been fixed. Too Human is just not enjoyable for these reasons and more. I think the worst aspects of Too Human are the controls and how its creators decided on its difficulty. The controls are plain bad and ill suited for a hack and slash. Instead of pushing a button to do the attacking, you use the right analog stick. Not to shoot, but to melee and much of the game is flying from enemy to enemy by waggling the right stick. Most enemies are easy to kill single hit weaklings but every so often there is one that explodes when it dies and either damages you so bad you almost die or nails you with a status ailment that renders you helpless long enough that you die. Its really annoying and making things worse is there is no way to heal yourself unless you were fortunate enough to have a breakable object or enemy drop a health pick up. Yes, there are guns to deal with the exploding enemies but thats if you are lucky enough to have a firearm that does good damage and not have so many enemies on screen you can shoot the one problem enemy. Did I mention every time you die theres a really silly sequence of a valkyrie coming down to pick up your corpse? You cant skip it. And it takes forever. The other super annoying thing with Too Human is enemy strength scales with your character's level. As you get stronger, so do your enemies. In a normal RPG, the stronger your character gets and the better gear you have the easier the game becomes. This is backwards in Too Human because enemy strengh increase outpaces yours. There is no better example in this with the long range enemies that shoot missiles at you. When you are low level, they shoot 2-3 missiles at you. When you are level 50 they shoot a cloud of them at you that do a lot of damage and are extremely difficult to avoid. This alone makes going for that no death achievement on the second chapter maddening if you try it at level 50. This is the game that IMHO reveals Silicon Knights for what they are. Talentless and unworthy. Too Human doesnt work as a game because the ideas that went into it were faulty to begin with. But that never stopped Dennis Dyack from blaming Epic Games and trying to sue them for all the money Gears of War got (he really did try to do that).Read full review
