    Fire and Water

    This video impressed me more for its 3-D feature than An Unexpected Journey. A really fun enjoyable film with childish humor. I loved the scene with the Dwarves riding the barrels in the river and Smaug's breath of fire chasing Bilbo. These are the best sequences to enjoy the 3-D effects. All the characters are interesting though some could use more development. The scenes with Kili and Tauriel are beautifully enhanced by Howard Shore's music score. Truly an enjoyable film in its Extended Version. The special features are always interesting especially New Zealand: Home of Middle Earth. This is a short behind-the-scenes propaganda about New Zealand. You get nine hours of extra documentaries on two additional discs. The trailer is the only thing missing in this set.
