Far into the future, various factions fight for the valuable melange spice that exists exclusively on Arrakis and is protected by fierce, gigantic sandworms. While the indigenous, blue-eyed Arrakisians wait for their Messiah to free them from the corrupt Harkonnens, the family Atreides endures infighting and political intrigue.     Wonderful TV Miniseries that follows the book closely. Great value.

    This version of Dune is far superior to the new versions created for 2020s. If you want a wonderful escape into SciFi land, purchase this title and escape for a while.

    Dune shows its age but this disc set is superb

    Love this story but I forgot how dated this version actually is. I guess it's going to be a thing with Dune--each version will be a reflection of the technological era it came from. The CGI in this version is terrible, but it's no worse than the terrible bluescreen and miniature work from the David Lynch version

    Dune review positive.

    I love the visual beauty of the set design and the views of Arrakis. The novel is more evocative, more lush, so the film while pretty lacks the poetic beauty of the prose. Overall a decent adaptation.

    Great movie that tells a more complete experience of Dune than the 1980s movie. The visuals are pretty dated because its a made for tv mini series and simply doesnt have that high of a budget. Very enjoyable sci fi slock.

    Dune - 2000 release, way better than previous version!

    This is much better than the American, SciFi channel version. The Directors Cut fills in missing information and is a more complete story.
