      Great Remote

      I own four of these now. I have DirecTV and this remote has all the buttons needed to control the satellite receiver. Most remotes do not. It also works great with DVD's. TV's. DVR's, etc. The DirecTV remotes suck bad at controlling other equipment so this Sony is a real improvement.

      Doesn't work well with DirecTv

      Unit can turn on DVR from DirecTV, but "LIST" function to display recorded programs doesn't work. "learning" mode does not work with LIST function. Customer support unhelpful...just said not all functions supported and to call DirecTv. Works OK with TV and Blueray player.

      This is a winner

      This remote is just fantastic. It's a learnable remote that can combine all of your home remotes into one package. It has a lot of programmed codes already available but if you have the original remote it's very easy to program that code into the unit by pushing a few buttons. The remote did not come with instructions but they were very easy to find on the internet through a local browse. I would highly recommend this unit if you are looking for a universal remote.

      Love this remote!

      This remote is easy to program, works all my other components. I especially like the four macro buttons, you can program each one to turn on and off several different components with one touch. All around great remote for the $.

      OK Sony AMP Substitute Remote - But many AMP Functions Missing

      Sony abandoned making remotes for my Stereo Amp so I had little choice but this unit. Since old remote was dead I had to use something with programming built in - and this unit offered that. My criticism is that many functions of the original remote are not included on this remote - such as volume controls for front or back speakers. But the good news is that I had a working remote that could power on/off the amp, select inputs, control volume and muting, select sound environments, etc. I just wish Sony still made the original remote for my amp ....
