With its 40-millimeter focal length, it's situated perfectly between the common 35-millimeter and 50-millimeter lenses for optimal flexibility. Packaged in a compact yet classical design, the manual focus is precise and maneuvers smoothly through the range. The lenses have been multi-coated and feature two aspherical elements to ensure capturing those sharp images you've been seeking. These coatings keep dust particles from affecting your shot and provide a level of scratch resistance to the glass. They also assist in the reduction of unwanted chromatic aberration.The CPU contacts will send certain information to your camera for optimal operation. With the included macro lens, you'll find this photography gear offers everything you've been looking for to take the perfect shot. This 40-millimeter Voigtländer lens was originally released in 2010. It's a more compact lens that weighs around 6.5 ounces, so it's very portable. It's small enough to fit in your hand or carry around in a bag when not in use. If you own a filter that you want to use with this lens, it's compatible with 39-millimeterand 52-millimeter thread sizes. These ultra-compact lenses work particularly well in combination with Canon and Nikon FX full frame cameras. It's fully compatible with all Nikon autofocus and manual focus digital SLR cameras. Its design consists of six elements in five groups. The diaphragm is comprised of nine curved blades for a rounded aperture at all settings. The aperture settings can be stopped down to f/22 when taking a photo of any kind. The ring that allows you to tinker with the aperture is metal and comes with full-stop clicks. These Voigtländer Ultron lenses have a close focus of 1.25 feet, providing you with full control over the results of your photos. A hard infinity focus stop and focus scale are also equipped on this Voigtländer f/2 aspherical lens. If you're using a 39-millimeter filter with this item, the adapter for this filter can also function as a lens hood. While this Voigtländer Ultron model is supported by many DSLRs, it can also be used with SLR devices. The manual type of focus on this item is extremely precise and easy-to-use. Superior optics are also provided for photography that's crisp and clear. This 40-millimeter f/2 product is equivalent to 60-millimeter models for both APS-C and DX devices. It comes with a real angle of view of 57 degrees for a wide capture. Its dimensions are approximately 2.48 inches by 0.96 inches. The body consists of a sleek black finish with bright and easy-to-see white lettering. When capturing close-up pictures, making use of macro shooting with the minimum focusing distance can achieve fantastic results. While the only focusing included with this Voigtländer f/2 40-millimeter lens is a manual one, metering and exposure settings are handled automatically. This allows you to focus on the most important aspects of taking a photo while avoiding too many adjustments.

    Solid and small with excellent image quality

    Using it on Fuji X system with an adapter, I am not really taking the advantage on the pancake size, but my intention to buy this lens was purely on both the built and image quality. 40mm is an interesting transition focal length which also I was after on a cropped sensor camera. It is a true multi purpose travel lens to cover that mid range, to me perfect for street photography.

    Great Little lens

    Perfect focal length for 80 of what I photograph. Like it's size and construction and quality. The manual focus aspect is not a problem as the throw is not that large and it's got the right amount of tension so you can hit your focus easily without going past it. I recommend this lens of prime lens shooters.
