More Smiles per Mile, But Not MPG
Ford Transit 2.4 100ps, 2008. Campervan. If you are motivated by increased MPG, then this is not the mod. for you. However, as a cheap-ish easy way to increase driving performance & pleasure, this may be what you are looking for. Fitting the box is easy. The attached wiring is long enough to route it neatly to the engine-bay fusebox. The plugs are a good quality & slip on nicely to the original fittings. Not having a dyno, I can only say that the claimed increase in torque & acceleration seem to be credible. The performance is much more lively. The box has switch settings 1 to 8. The supplier recommended setting 3... guess what... they're right. Setting 2 feels less responsive than 3 & setting 4, whilst "sporty" wasn't a big leap in performance... both 2 and 4 were less economical than ... Ford Transit 2.4 100ps, 2008. Campervan. No box = 27.4mpg Switch 2 = 23.5mpg Switch 3 = 25.1mpg Switch 4 = 23.3mpg These are actual mpg's on the same trips, not what the van's computer thinks it's doing - which I've read can be wrong due to its fuelling rate being fooled by the chip. So, if you can live with a reduction of 2 or 3 mpg, you may find the enhanced driving experience worthwhile.

Hi I must say that I was a little sceptical when purchasing but as long as you stop when you're happy with the settings no harm should come but has improved with a much smoother running engine very quiet running especially at 2000 revs and above.

Woken up!
Like others I was a bit sceptical and didn't want to damage anything but I took a punt and couldn't be happier, the old Freelander td4 automatic was pretty sluggish made joining motorways or quick getaways tiresome but I'm running this 1 setting above default and it's brilliant, transmission hunts less and the low down punch is greatly improved, cruises at high speed much more easily at less throttle, mpg was always pretty good but I would say it's better still with this fitted. No smoke, no issues, couple with an egr delete it's the engine it always should have been.
