Was dispatched promptly though the way the royal mail tracking works it looked like it hadn't been until it arrived at my door, which was on time. It worked perfectly for me with the AVRdude software on Linux, and allowed me to backup the firmware of my 3D printer (running an Anet A8 clone board), write it back, and crucially burn a bootloader that it was missing before. This reference number can only be used by Royal Mail for tracking purposes as you chose untracked postage, and not by customers - Not sure why they send it to customers as it only causes confusion when people try and use it as a tracking number - Also see Panorama "Where's my post?" about Royal Mail
