This 24-port Gigabit switch was designed to offer fast, wired connectivity for your devices and even better, to do it quietly without overheating, even when performing high-level tasks. The D-Link DGS1024D External Switch is an unmanaged network switch that can both work alone with desktop computers, or as a part of a rack-mounted setup. This switch is popular with small and medium-sized businesses for its energy efficiency and its easy-to-use, plug-and-play design. The rack-mounted setup is perfect for when you don’t have a lot of space. Each of the 24 ports has an Auto-MDI/MDI-X cross-over, which means you don’t have to worry about having extra cables to hook up another hub or switch. The lack of the crossover cables means it is also easier to install. All ports in this type of switch also have intelligent auto-negotiation, which means the ports can sense link speeds and adjust when necessary to maximize performance. Key features of the D-Link DGS1024D External Switch include an external form factor, a data transfer rate of 1 Gbps and a Data Link Protocol of Ethernet, Fast Ethernet (100-Mbit/s), Gigabit Ethernet (1000-Mbit/s). With a 24-port Gigabit Ethernet Switch, you are guaranteed improved network bandwidth and performance, and a secure, reliable way to transfer and share files. The switch is PC compatible and has a switching capacity of 48Gbps. Other features include IEEE 802.3x flow control, full duplex capability, auto-sensing per device, auto-negotiation, auto-uplink (auto MDI/MDI-X), packet filtering, store and forward and Green Ethernet. The IEEE 802.3x Flow Control can also be enabled and disabled. No active fans mean that there are not any heat or noise issues and a smaller footprint with this D-link switch.
