    the Lock has lots of features works very well and the keypad gives you an extra way to unlock. so far everything is working well.

    unreliable

    the lock does respond quickly when using your phone, but the keypad is a different story. You have to wait about 30 seconds and if it doesn't work then try again. The auto unlock feature does not work but the auto lock does. If you want customer service be prepared to wait on the phone for a customer rep. and good luck trying to understand them. I think they are in India. Very disappointing

    Learning to like the August gen. 3 smart lock

    The device does a fine job of locking and unlocking the conventional deadbolt in my front door. I purchased before understanding that this kit required the August Connect bridge to integrate the system’s Bluetooth with a home’s WiFi network, so now I’m shopping for that bridge separately. The motor groans a bit with the effort of turning the lock and I wouldn’t be surprised if the 4 AA batteries were depleted in a few months. I hope the hardware will last. Occasionally the system succeeds in detecting that I’ve come home and unlocks before I grasp the handle. In all cases it compiles a useful log of who operated the lock when. Sometimes the system locks the door when I’m home yet wish it left unlocked, so perhaps more familiarity with the controls or perhaps expanding options in the iPhone ...

    Smart lock

    I was kind of skeptical at first. I added this to my list of smarthome products and it's a great buy. Everything worked great! It's really nice to come home and have the door unlock as you approach. Works with apple HomeKit, and Siri!! Love it!!!
