    perfect for me

    I have been using one for 20years at work. People give me a hard time but it does everything I want. It's the right size and easily organized. They last about 5years sometimes because I break the screen but I always have a back up ready. I will retire when I can't get any new ones. Fortunately I am old like this technology.

    Old fashioned but ok

    This is not a cell phone, just a way of storing your contact info plus other stuff. I like the size. The problem is that eventually the digitizer goes bad. I have learned how to replace them with new ones that I buy on Ebay. If you buy this unit brand new the digitizer will probably last a good amount of time.

    Great Personal PDA

    The first PDA I ever got was a Palm M100 back around 2001 it was simple and easy to use but after three years it finally gave out on my so I decided to purchase a Palm Zire 31 in 2004 for an upgrade. The Zire 31 had a nice color screen and it even played MP3's with an expandable SD memory card. I basically used it to keep track of homework, projects and appointments. Some problems I saw while using it was that it was sometimes slow when switching applications and the battery life died quickly after about a year. I ended up replacing the battery because there was a problem with it since then I have used it for the past three years till I just recently purchased the Palm TX. I would recommend this product Highly.

    Good PDA to keep life organized.

    Likes-Nice PDA to keep you organized, color screen much better than older chromatic screens, very easy to use and intuitive, small enough, not expensive. Touch screen very easy to read and responsive, stylus is light (I like that, not heavy metal stylus). Dislikes-battery life short (like alot of PDA's) limited applications, can't run Documents to Go, wifi, etc. Bottom line-If you want to but inexpensive but effective organizer that's easy to use, Palm Zire 31 is way to go. Much cheaper than Palm Z22, and does all the same stuff. If you need a PDA for wi fi, business applications, document writing, medical, legal software etc, you want to upgrade to Palm t5 or Tungsten E2.

    Refurbed Zire 31 Keeps On Going

    The Zire 31 worked just like it should right out of the recycled box. It was missing the flap cover but it came with a Zire protective case that should protect it from the crushing and bangs that happen within my travel briefcase. Battery life looks really good too. Also it was missing the power/mini-usb protective flap but that's not a really big deal. Software version on board was 5.2.8. Display brightness is satisfactory but it isn't as bright as it could be. All button functions work properly and the SD memory slot worked perfectly. I got this Zire 31 as a backup to keep me going for 5 more years without another new OS learning curve since Palm OS is apparently dead. I use Palm OS software that doesn't exist yet on other platforms. I don't need another wireless device either that ...
