      Jenny Lewis - Acid Tongue

      The lyrics are less complex and there are fewer narratives than on previous Lewis/Rilo Kiley albums but Acid Tongue is a powerful and, at times, raw mix of 70's style Rock, Country and traces of Jazz. The voice of Jenny Lewis gets stronger and stronger and is good reason enough to buy this album. There are some high profile guest singers on some of the songs but to say I hardly noticed them suggests the impact of Jenny Lewis's contribution. The music is as inventive as it is varied and sounds almost 'live' at times. Look out for this album along with others by Jenny Lewis and Rilo Kiley. All are good and no two are the same.
